Who we are
Built on doing the job properly
Juan started Silver State five years ago after working in the industry for 15+ years and seeing too many jobs done poorly. He set up his own crew with a straightforward approach: turn up when you say you will, do the work to a high standard, and stand behind it.
We’re a team based in Auckland. Juan is on every job, not just quoting and disappearing. We don’t subcontract your work out to whoever’s cheapest that week.
Every project gets the same level of care whether it’s a single room or a full commercial repaint. That consistency is what keeps clients coming back.

Meet Juan
The person on every job
Painting runs in my family. My grandfather and father were both painters, and watching them take pride in their work gave me a love for the industry that has stayed with me ever since.
Throughout my career I’ve worked across Europe, the United States and Chile, and I’ve spent the last 10 years in New Zealand. Working in so many places gave me experience across a wide range of projects, surfaces and techniques. It also showed me the high standards of workmanship expected overseas, and I bring those standards to every job, big or small.
I started Silver State Renovations to offer that level of quality to my clients, along with the unique finishing touches that set our work apart. For me, the job is about more than the finished surface. It’s about connecting with people, listening to what they want and understanding what their home or space means to them.
My goal is for every client to be proud of the result and confident recommending us to family and friends. A personal recommendation is the best compliment we can receive, and I work hard to earn every one through care, honesty and attention to detail.
